Team Edu Leedz is at it again, blessing you broke bastards with hella freebies. For anyone who's unfamiliar with promoter-executive producer Leedz, he's pretty much the force behind 90 percent of rap shows in Massachusetts for the past seven years. In the process, he's helped develop the careers of countless cats who call (or have called) this place home - from Slaine and MC Exposition to Rite Hook and that dude who nailed your girl behind the dumpster at the Middle East last week.

Boston rap promoter Edu Leedz has never dropped a weak mixtape - whether you're talking about projects on which he pairs local talent with visiting all-stars, or the ones on which Boston artists handle all the tracks. This one has a bit of both; cats like Qwel and Copywrite swing through, but mostly all the action comes from the likes of Amadeus, Rite Hook, Stu Cat, The Camp, and Al-J.

Blak Madeen's Sacred Defense was without-a-doubt one of the best discs to drop anywhere last year - not just in Boston (here's the feature that I wrote about them). The album featured the likes of Reks and Lord Jamar - and sick beats through and through - but ultimately prevailed on the strength of Al-J and Yusuf playing off of one another.

When the highly mobile Lawrence MC Reks returned to Mass before his Grey Hairs release party this past August, he blessed a mess of Boston affiliates with doses of his recently revamped dynamic slickery. Among his fortunate collaborators were Illin’ P, DL, Black Madeen, and Greater Good mic menace Amadeus the Stampede, whose full-length non-mixtape debut, House of Broken Mirrors, is set to drop early next year.
