Billy Ruane wake planned for Saturday; donations to Sandman fund

From the Middle East: a wake will be held for Billy Ruane on Saturday, October 30 from 4 to 8 pm at the Donovan-Aufiero Funeral Home, 140 Otis Street in Cambridge.

A reception will follow at the Middle East from 8 to 10 pm. 

Donations in Billy's name can be made to the Mark Sandman Music Project Fundraising Page.

We'll have additional details as they become available. Thanks again to the hundreds of people who've shared their Billy memories over the past two days. We'll be reaching out to many of you this week for extended reminiscence. We didn't have time to get a proper story into this week's paper, but we'll continue to update on the web, and you can expect a long tribute to Billy -- filled with his friends' voices -- in next week's newspaper.
