Primed 4 SXSW ’12

By MICHAEL MAROTTA  |  March 9, 2012

LIGHT ASYLUM | Listen: "A Certain Person" | Berlin-by-way-of-Brooklyn (or is it the other way around?) duo of Shannon Funchess and Bruno Coviello take the influences of both home bases and distill them through a modern dance music medium. There's as much Depeche Mode and ABC here as there is whatever is hot in Billyburg at the moment, and the lost New Wave castoffs wandering around Sixth will find sweet refuse in the strobe-lit romo-pop of this Mexican-summer duo.
