Attention hip-hop friends:Symmetry andDox Ellis team up at Fête on FRIDAY (the 17th) behind Symmetry’s acclaimed new albumJunky, with guestsBored with Four andBotzy (all ages, 401.383.1112). Also on Friday, Machines with Magnets (401.475.2655) hosts an album release show for Chicago garage-rock outfitThunders, with localsLittlefoot, Eastern Phoebes, and “secret special guests.” The News Café in Pawtucket delivers two noteworthy shows this weekend, withTapestries headlining on Friday andPixels throwing down on SATURDAY (the 18th); both shows are all ages, call 401.728.6475 for info on both gigs.The ’Mericans will play a two-night stand at the Parlour for the officialTribute to Providence album release party. Chris Daltry & Co. will perform the entire album on Saturday; and on SUNDAY (the 19th), a handful of acts covered on the album will perform, includingAllysen Callery,Arc Isis (featuring Jocie Adams),Pete Donnelly of the Figgs,the Brother Kite, and Daltry’s original crew,Purple Ivy Shadows, among others.
