Review: The Slammin' Salmon

The Lizard is broken indeed

Here's how the shit version of Waiting likely came to be: the Broken Lizard boys (David Heffernan directs) thought the concept of a boxing-champ-turned-Miami-restaurateur was funny, and they wrote and shot a major motion picture without bothering to design a plot. The result is the year's least-funny film — even Jim Gaffigan can't pry a laugh from this script, which might provoke the Academy to revoke Michael Clarke Duncan's Oscar nomination.

Hyperbole is unnecessary when lampooning "the biz," yet here natural restaurant observations are left out while donkey-punch and Cleveland-steamer clichés further pollute the tired dialogue. Salmon is more awful than people who return entrées, more awful than celebrity bar-and-grills, more awful than all the other Broken Lizard flicks combined.

Only one thing might be worse: the thought of Comedy Central's airing this bomb four times a day.
