Still I pushed onward. I shoveled down bite after bite, trying different variations. Perhaps if I was to pick up the bacon slice and use it to scoop the ice cream up, like a smoked meat spoon? It was halfway through the whole endeavor — my fingers coated in caramel syrup and bacon bits — that the queasiness set in. And it set in hard. A Bacon Sundae hangover is what I imagine coming down from meth must feel like, all shivering regret and wondering where life went so wrong. Once I'd recovered enough to reflect upon the whole debacle I decided that no, everything is not better with bacon. Least of all a fast-food sundae.
