Ben Ratliff, in conversation with George Garzone
Regattabar
If you missed New York Times jazz and pop critic Ben Ratliff's trip through town a year ago, when he talked to local sage Ran Blake about the hardcover version of his The Jazz Ear: Conversations over Music (Times Books), well, he'll be doing it again, this time with the paperback edition, simulating the book's conversations with the Fringe's George Garzone. The premise: Ratliff invites musicians to gather music they'd like to talk about - not necessarily desert-island, just music they want to talk about. Serendipitous insight ensues. Word is that Garzone would also like to play a little. It's free, presented by the Harvard Book Store, at the Regattabar, Charles Hotel, 1 Bennett St, Cambridge | 7:30 pm | 617.661.1515 or //www.harvard.com/events.
