French-Canadian singer Geneviéve Castrée identifies herself more as the paint-and-canvas kind of artist than the musical variety. But if you’ve heard the dark, haunting psych folk she’s recorded as Ô Paon (and previously as Woelv) you might disagree. Yes, she created the cover art for Ô Paon’s self-released 2010 album Courses, but we’re more compelled by the hypnotic, meandering experi-folk that it contains. Check her out for yourself tonight — things are bound to get a bit hypnotic when she performs with ’90s Seattle experimental outfit Earth.
