The Phoenix Says    Recently renovated and now reopened, this Allston treasure stands at the lonely end of Harvard Avenue. It has retained its no-nonsense attitude, if not its grit. The bathrooms won’t gag you, and capacity has increased from 70 to something in the neighborhood of three digits. Still booking live local bands most nights a week. Open daily from noon to 1 am. Cover varies, but it’s usually around $7.
