Traditionally considered the purview of male
directors, the horror genre has increasingly been embraced by women. Taking
note of this, the All Things Horror people present a program of shorts and features by
female filmmakers from the Viscera Film Festival, "a nonprofit organization committed to
expanding opportunities for contemporary female horror filmmakers." They
include Bloody Breasts, Maude Michaud's documentary about women and horror
movies, and Karen Lam's Stained, about a woman with a horrifying secret obsession. It
takes place today and tomorrow at the Somerville Theatre, 55 Davis Square | Friday, September 23 @ 8 pm +
Sunday, September 25 @ 5 pm | $25 festival pass;$8 single ticket |
